What happens when a president’s domestic standing erodes? They often go to war.
Will Donald Trump resort to such a plan?. This period prior to the November, 2020 presidential election – Entering a period of pronounced turmoil – even more so than what we have experienced these past three and a half years. Trump’s Middle East policy has been based on two themes: creating chaos which he then fails to manage and what is referred to as “the wounded beast syndrome” – the erratic behavior of a weakening hegemonic power.
