The United States has, over the years, through its policies of “humanitarian intervention” based upon “American Exceptionalism” created numerous “hot spots” throughout the Middle East. In fact the entire region is in crisis. Can either of the possible U. S. presidential hopefuls dampen these fires and reverse them, so that the region moves from one of unending war and suffering, to one of peaceful reconstruction?
