CBS Poll: Where Is Tunis?

March 11, 2011

North Africa: Tunisia is between Algeria and Libya

On January 27-31, after weeks of Tunisia being in the news and several days after the “Jasmine Revolution” succeeded in deposing Ben Ali, CBS conducted a nationwide poll asking people to identify where Tunis was located. The good news is that 57 percent knew it was somewhere on the African continent. However, the other answers were as follows:

South America 8%;

South Pacific 8%;

Caribbean5%;

Australia 2%:

Don’t Know 21%

One can only hope that the 43% who got the answer wrong don’t vote.

Thanks to Phil Jones of `Friends of Tunisia’ for providing this info. (rjp)

    The very next time I read a blog, I hope that it won’t fail me as much as this particular one. After all, Yes, it was my choice to read, however I really thought you would probably have something helpful to talk about. All I hear is a bunch of moaning about something that you could fix if you weren’t too busy looking for attention.

    Having read this I thought it was extremely informative. I appreciate you taking the time and energy to put this content together. I once again find myself personally spending a lot of time both reading and posting comments. But so what, it was still worthwhile!
